Jobs are free to post so there is no guarantee that you will get paid after a job is completed.

On my usual search around the internet I came across this site:

Problogger is a blog all about blogging and what can be achieved if done right!

They also have a job board available for us freelancers to look at and apply. There will more than likely be a lot of people applying for these jobs but pitch your email right and it may be you!

Update on Writerlance

It is confirmed that the website Writerlance.com is a scam.

The site was offline for over a week and is now back up and running! I have tried to log into my account to see the progress of my money withdrawal, only to find I no longer have an account there...

This has been happening to a lot of people recently and it isn't surprising. Writerlance are taking the money that belongs to the freelancers and keeping it for themselves.

If you are a freelancer or someone looking to hire a freelancer, please do not use Writerlance. This is a confirmed scam website and everyone will lose money except for Writerlance.

It is hard enough for freelancers without websites like Writerlance making it even worse! I will certainly be more careful when using new websites, and I hope you will be too!

Freelance Writing

There are many ways to earn a living as a freelancer, some are more lucrative than others, but which ever talent you have, chances are you could be a freelancer!

Here we will look at what it takes to be a freelance writer and what sort of writing you could do to earn money.

Copywriting – Copywriting is the term used for businesses hiring someone to write about their services, products and the like. Copywriting can come with very high pay but some of the auction sites for freelancers are driving the price down for some. You may be asked to write articles, reviews, brochures, websites and much more.

Ghostwriting – Ghost writing is when you write something that someone else puts their name to. You may be asked to write an e-book or a print book. Fees associated with this can be extremely high depending on the type of book you write and who you write it for.

Public relations – Businesses may hire a freelance writer to pen their press releases, speeches, letters and so forth.

There are many ways to write for a living and if you have the skills, it isn’t difficult to break into.

The Internet is huge and if you consider the amount of websites that need content, this far outweighs the amount of freelancers!

Scriptlance

Another site for freelancers of all types is Scriptlance.

Scriptlance works on an auction basis and you bid or place a project as you wish.

I have used Scriptlance to get a few projects but I don't use it as much as the others. I have to pay a $5 fee on each job I accept. I usually just adjust my bid to incorporate the fee.

There are different paid subscriptions if you want to pay less fees, but for the amount of times I personally use Scriptlance, it isn't worth it for me.

Writerlance

Well I bring this news with sadness to all freelance writers.

I recently joined a freelance site called Writerlance. Now this site seemed legitimate and had quite a lot of activity on it. I have actually had a few well paid jobs through Writerlance and luckily I have been paid through Paypal.

It appears that Writerlance have not been paying writers that people hire through this site. The buyer sends Writerlance the money and then Writerlance send the money to the writer. This is the part they are not doing. So Writerlance are cheating everyone. Although it is the writer that suffers the most again.

Now I have only lost $27 through Writerlance but I am sure that some people have lost much more than this. If you try to get to www.writerlance.com you will see that the site is actually offline.

It seems like Writerlance have done a runner with freelance writers money. I'm sorry to all writers that used Writerlance and have lost money through them. Please use only legitimate sites that have good reviews already. I found Writerlance by accident and I don't regret it, I now have regular clients through them, but I am angry that people can do this to others!

Just a quick update -

I started this website as I was constantly being asked on my copywriting tips and ideas website to post where to find work. I want to help everyone find what they are good at and a way to make money from home!

I have just done a quick search on Google for 'working from home', I am amazed at the amount of sheer rubbish on the first page!

There is no wonder many people are at a loss for what to do! Some of the websites I looked at claim to help find the scams, when they are in fact a scam anyway! They offer to find the scams but at a fee of course!

Beware of anything that asks for an investment or a get rich quick scheme, I'm sorry to have to tell you but they do not exist! The majority of them are pyramid schemes and they are essentially a scam.
