Google search

Just a quick update -

I started this website as I was constantly being asked on my copywriting tips and ideas website to post where to find work. I want to help everyone find what they are good at and a way to make money from home!

I have just done a quick search on Google for 'working from home', I am amazed at the amount of sheer rubbish on the first page!

There is no wonder many people are at a loss for what to do! Some of the websites I looked at claim to help find the scams, when they are in fact a scam anyway! They offer to find the scams but at a fee of course!

Beware of anything that asks for an investment or a get rich quick scheme, I'm sorry to have to tell you but they do not exist! The majority of them are pyramid schemes and they are essentially a scam.

Stay safe out there freelancers!

Working from home

Working from home is a fantastic opportunity if you can find the right work. This is what this website is all about. There are many different ways in which to work from home, and this site will over time cover them all.

From freelance writing to clicking ads in emails, this website hopes to point people in the right direction when they choose to work from home.

I love working from home and I can't recommend it enough! I get to stay at home with my baby and my husband, and I get to work at my own pace.

Don't get me wrong, working from home has its disadvantages... There are constant distractions and freelancing for a living can be fraught with worry and stress. There is only one way to find out if working from home and freelancing is for you, and that is to try it for yourself!

Get a Freelancer

This is possibly the most popular freelancing site on the Internet at the moment. I personally use this more than any other at the moment as I find it the easiest to navigate and the most lucrative.

Anyone can join Get a Freelancer either as a service provider or as a service buyer. As a buyer you will post your project and set your budget and outline your project, then service providers will then bid on your project. You then have the choice of which provider you choose to do your project.

As a service provider you have the choice of many projects to bid on. You choose what you want to work for and how soon you can have the project done. Depending on your bid you may or may not be chosen.

It's a really simple process and I find the majority of my work through this site. The problem with these types of freelancing sites is that there are always lots of people willing to do the work for a pittance.

Never bid lower than you feel comfortable working for, the service buyers want quality work and the majority of them are willing to pay good money for quality work.

Lots of different types of freelancers can find work on Get a Freelancer:

  • Writers
  • Proofreaders
  • Web Designers
  • Legal Advisers
  • Telemarketers

This is a very small selection of categories for workers on Get a Freelancer.

You can be a gold member and pay $12 per month or a non gold member and pay $5 every job you accept.

I started out as a non member and after a few projects paid for the membership. It pays to be a member as you pay zero commision on projects you accept. Otherwise you lose the first $5 of every project.

Please, please, please get any money for projects you do in escrow from the buyer first. There is a feedback system on GAF that usually works very well, however a few scammers slip through the net. The buyer puts the money in escrow before you start working, then after completion you can cancel the payment from your end or the buyer can release the money to you.

Try it out and let me know how you get on! I would love to hear your experiences good or bad with Get a Freelancer!

Introduction

This blog has been created to help all freelancers find work! There are many great websites to find work and there are also many to be wary of.

Hopefully this website will allow all freelancers to judge which websites and companies are best for them.

We hope to also expose any work from home scams and freelancing scams as we find them!

I am a freelancer and instead of keeping all the best sites to myself, I am going to share them with you. I firmly believe all freelancers should stick together rather than trying to outdo each other. There is plenty of work for everyone!

I may also look for writers myself on odd occasions!

Let us all make this a great place to search for work and have a great time doing it!
